What is a video guestbook?
It's a guestbook where guests leave a short video message instead of signing a page. With VideoWishes, each guest records on their own phone, and every clip lands in one gallery with their name and the time attached.
Do guests need to download an app or create an account?
No. Guests scan a QR code, tap a text link, or open an email link, and the recording page opens right in their phone's browser. No app, no login.
Do I need to rent an iPad or a kiosk?
No. There's no hardware to buy, borrow, or babysit. Every guest uses the camera already in their pocket, so there's no single station and no line.
How long can each message be?
Up to 60 seconds. A short countdown runs, then the front camera records.
What kinds of events does it work for?
Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, bar and bat mitzvahs — any celebration where people have something to say. Each host sets their own colors, photo, and wording for the page guests see.
How do I get the videos afterward?
Every clip shows up in your host gallery, named and dated. Download them all whenever you're ready. Automatic highlight reels are coming soon.
How long does setup take?
About ten minutes. Create your event, customize the page guests land on, then print the QR code or share the link by text or email.
How much does VideoWishes cost?
It's free while we launch, and any event you create now stays free after paid plans start. Only events created after that will be paid.
Is there a limit on guests or messages?
Not during our launch — invite as many guests as you like and collect as many messages as they leave. Each message can be up to 60 seconds.
Who can see the messages?
Only you. Your gallery is behind your own sign-in; guests see the recording page, not each other's messages. What you download and share afterward is up to you.
How long are videos kept?
Messages are kept for 12 months after your event date, and you can download them anytime. We'll email you a reminder before anything is deleted.
Do guests need Wi-Fi?
They need a connection — Wi-Fi or cell service — to send their message. If a send fails, their recording stays on screen so they can tap Send again without re-recording. If your venue has weak reception, post the Wi-Fi details next to your QR card.
